Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 94 in G Major, better known as the “Surprise Symphony”, is a playful masterpiece written in 1791 during his celebrated London tour. The symphony earned its nickname thanks to a single, unexpected BAM! in the peaceful second movement (Andante).
