Since 1958, Project HOPE has been bringing health and hope to those who need it most. We began as the S.S. HOPE, the world’s first peacetime hospital ship, making voyages to provide care and train health care workers around the world. The ship was retired in 1974, but our mission remains the same. Our global team members and medical volunteers travel to the areas we are needed most to expand equitable access to health care worldwide.
