Recent storms on a northern Tasmanian beach have revealed the remains of an ancient forest of trees considered "elders" by Tasmania's Aboriginal people. While the trees were initially thought by some to be "petrified", a fossil expert says they are actually mostly "preserved", with some parts petrified.
